Workshop on low energy buildings held in Växjö

As part of the EU READY-project, a two-day workshop was held for the partners of the project. The workshop held by Växjö Municipality and the Energikontor Sydost’s (Energy Office Southeast) main topic was low energy buildings and renovation. Apart from a status of the project, there was also information on completed and ongoing building projects in Växjö. Among these a 8-story wood framed building from 2007 following the Swedish passive house standard.

Another topic of the workshop was which framework conditions there are for building in Sweden and Denmark. One of the main differences on the energy framework between the two countries was that Denmark approves based on the calculated values whereas Sweden approves based on monitored values after the building is commissioned.

This is important for how the overall targets for the READY-project are made and what method of measurement shall be used?

On 12-13 November, another workshop will be held as part of the READY-project. This time the host of the workshop is Green Energy. The workshop will be a combined workshop and theme day where the theme day is open to the public. The theme of this event will be low-temperature district heating.
